Meet the 2014 Mercedes-Benz G63.
Historically a utilitarian vehicle for soldiers, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class has been on an immense journey. It is believed that the original G-Wagen (Gelandewagen) was designed for the Shah of Iran’s military in the 1970’s. Dating back several decades, the changes to date have been made to meet requirements, add luxury whilst managing to maintain its ‘hip gangster’ status.
Straight lines, boxy, sharp angles, luxury interior, the 2014 Mercedes-Benz G-Class is as comfortable on a military training exercise as it is cruising around the English countryside or city roads.
Off-road the G63 excels. It may look heavy duty but its automatic four-wheel-drive system sees it comfortably take on conditions and terrain where very few rivals dare to be seen. This 2014 model boasts impressive internal features including a rear entertainment system and electric memory function front seats, as well as a luxurious leather interior.
Dated? Absolutely not! We bet no one in the 1970’s ever imagined this vehicle would still be alive. And yet, this luxury SUV wholeheartedly deserves the ‘icon’ label it’s become renowned for.
