Copart will again support the Co-Driver experience, providing a young co-driver with the opportunity to gain experience of a world rally championship event in order to further their career. The selection is complete and the co-driver will be announced shortly.
Copart’s and John’s last involvement in the World Rally Championship in 2013 ended on the second day when John and young co-driver Elliott Edmondson (pictured above with the rally plate from the 1995 event that John competed on) rolled the car whilst leading their class by over 3 minutes.
John said “it was most frustrating as we were not pushing because we had a good early lead. We lost the engine oil and had a fire which put us out of the rally, but that’s rallying and we are back to seek revenge, thanks to Copart”.
John's Fiesta ST was purchased from Copart and since then he has been building the vehicle for competition with the help of Ken Jones. Purchasing this vehicle from Copart was more cost effective than trying to repair his previous vehicle and this was made even more economical by purchasing parts from U-Pull-it. We will be recording and detailing each part of the process of building a road car to a rally car as we lead up to the start of the race, so make sure you follow john and our car throughout their journey.
You can keep up to date on further developments every step of the way by following Copart on Facebook and Twitter leading up to Wales Rally GB which starts from Deeside in North Wales on November 13th 2015.
