The Copart Fiesta ST Trophy entrants competing at Wales Rally GB have a wide range of backgrounds that will ensure fierce competition.
Copart is providing a total prize fund of £1,750 with £1,000 for the first Copart Fiesta Trophy registered Group N Fiesta ST in the overall classification, £500 for second and £250 for third.
WRC tyre supplier DMACK will offer significant discount on tyres, together with four free tyres for the winning Fiesta and two free tyres for second place. M-Sport is providing a test run in the new 1.0 turbo Fiesta R2 as used in the Drive DMACK Fiesta ST Trophy at the World Championship.
Tony Simpson and Ian Bevan; Tony, a former WRGB class winner and Fiesta Trophy Champion has the most recent experience of Wales Rally GB, so will provide a tough challenge for the other crews. Tony is also a stand up comedian, and presenter on Absolute Rally podcast.
Tim Rogers from Lincolnshire and Stefan Arndt from Fleet are competing in WRGB, Tim is a Copart Member and will be using a Fiesta bought from Copart for the recce.
James Wesley and Glyn Thomas; James has the honour of being the first driver to use a Fiesta ST back in 2005 and will also be one of the last as the car will not be allowed on International events after WRGB, as its homologation which allows it to compete at the highest level runs out. There can’t be many drivers who can make that claim.
John Pritchard, who devised the Copart Fiesta Trophy to encourage Fiesta’s to compete in its final World Championship event, is a former Skoda Trophy winner, competing in his first Rally GB as a Skoda factory driver back in 1995. He also was runner up in the 2010 Fiesta Challenge, which Chris Williams his Navigator won. John’s last event was WRGB in 2013 when he rolled out whilst leading the class. John as organiser of the CFT is sponsored by Copart so has ruled himself out of the prizes.
