Online vehicle remarketing company Copart UK are supporting the Roadside Safe Initiative by being the first company to sign up to PATAM’s Automotive and Logistics Industry Competency and Qualifications Card Scheme.
To qualify for the PATAM Card Scheme, Copart had to meet specific criteria to be recognised across the industry, including completion of the DriveAWARE training and the provision of a recognised Government licence check, Electric & Hybrid awareness training, industry standard vocational training, full insurance and a company Operator’s Licence.
As the first company to sign up to PATAM’s card scheme, Copart are delighted to demonstrate their investment in employee development and prove their competency and compliance in the handling of over 400,000 vehicle movements annually across the UK.
The initial pilot will see Copart’s employees at their Chester Facility issued with a personalised Copart/PATAM branded identity card, enabling them to produce evidence of vocational qualifications and company policies when requested to do so.
Simon Sheldon-Wilson, Operations Director at Copart said: “We are committed to ensuring the competency and capability of our drivers in the safe handling of our customer vehicles. The PATAM scheme impressed us as it offers an effective means for drivers to prove their skills and training, together with the ability to ensure records are kept up-to-date and readily available whenever they are required. We are proud to be involved in the early stages of the scheme’s development.”
Gary Tucker, Chief Executive at PATAM, adds: “We are delighted to welcome the team at Copart and are working closely with them to deliver a solution that meets the needs of their business. Thisrelationship demonstrates our shared interest in innovation, safety and compliance and I am looking forward to rolling the scheme out nationally over the coming months.”
