The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into effect in the UK on 25th May 2018, replacing the UK Data Protection Act 1998.
Under the new regulation, we will need all our Members to give their consent to Copart to use their personal data for sending out marketing communications, by ‘opting in’ to the specific channels that they wish to receive information from us about our products and services.
How do I opt in?
To make it as easy as possible for you, we have set up a Marketing Preferences section under Account Settings in the Member area of our website.
It’s a very quick and simple process to opt in. All you need to do is log in, go to Account Settings/Marketing Preferences and then simply tick the ways you wish to receive marketing communications from us in the future.
What happens if I don’t opt in?
If you don’t opt in to your marketing preferences, we will be unable to send you any marketing communications by email, text, telephone and targeted advertising campaigns through social media.
That means we’ll no longer be able to tell you about our news and offers, or let you know about fantastic featured Lots coming through our auctions that you might be interested in.
What you’ll miss out on if you don’t opt in:
- Member Newsletter
- Special Membership Offers
- Industry News
- Featured/Selected Lots
Once you have opted in, not only will the marketing communications you receive from us be tailored to your preferences; but you’ll always be the first to hear about our news and special offers, giving you an improved customer experience with Copart!
So, opt in…don’t miss out!
